Training

Training Courses

Through the TCGC partner network four electrical & automation engineering course topics are available to empower technical workforces with new problem-solving skills in various industries. Courses include online training as well as classroom training sessions that provide a hands-on, problem-solving experience, leaving delegates feeling confident to install, commission and avoid system faults. Where possible, training is taken out of the classroom setup to assist in solving existing onsite problems (providing practical problem-solving skills). Course topics include the following:

      • Variable Speed Drives (EMHEATER)
      • Motor Control
      • Motor Protection
      • EMC & Harmonics
VSD Training
VSDs (EMHEATER)

This course is aimed at creating an in-depth technical understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of EMHEATER VSDs. This course covers all the basic knowledge of VSDs, with emphasis on the practical handling of EMHEATER VSDs. Specific problems to be solved using VSDs (scenarios and applications) will also be addressed as case studies to expand practical knowledge.

This course is recommended for technicians involved in the design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of EMHEATER VSD installations.

1. Online Course – Theoretical Overview Training (4 Hrs)

2. Practical Course – Advanced Technical Training (3 Days)

Motor Control

This course is aimed at creating a comprehensive understanding of the design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of motor control systems. This course covers the entire spectrum of general electric motor control technologies by providing useful theoretical information as well offering practical hands-on exercises.

This course is recommended for technicians involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical motor installations and involved/concerned with motor control.

1. Online Course - Theoretical Overview Training (4 Hrs)

2. Practical Course - Advanced Technical Training (3 Days)

Motor Protection

This course is aimed at creating an in-depth technical understanding of Motor Protection. This course covers the entire spectrum of general electric motor protection technology by providing useful theoretical information as well offering practical hands-on exercises.

This course is recommended for technicians involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical motor installations (with emphasis on motor control systems) and thus being involved/concerned with motor protection.

1. Online Course – Theoretical Overview Training (2 Hrs)

2. Practical Course - Advanced Technical Training (1 Day)

EMC and Harmonics

This course is aimed at creating an in-depth technical understanding of EMC and Harmonics. This course covers all the basic knowledge of EMC and Harmonics by providing useful theoretical information as well offering practical hands-on exercises.

This course is recommended for technicians involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of all non-linear load systems.

1. Online Course – Theoretical Overview Training (4 Hrs)

2. Practical Course - Advanced Technical Training (2 Days)

Training Groups

Online Theoretical Training: Online training sessions are advertised and open to all interested parties. Attendees will thus include individuals from different organisations (minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 attendees will be allowed).
