Understanding Drive Keypad Functions
- LED Display: The 5-digit LED display/s can display the set frequency, output frequency, monitoring data, fault codes etc. Please note that the data displayed while in running state and in idle state differs, and that the default displayed parameters can be modified, please FAQ entries HERE and HERE.
- Unit / Status Indicators: Indicates what info is displayed on the LED Area (relevant to the bottom LED for drives with Double LED Display Lines). Please note that the colour of the indicator is of no relevance.
- Hz: Indicates that the LED is displaying the Target/Running Frequency (flashing the target frequency when not running and showing the actual frequency when running)
- A: Indicates that the LED is displaying the Running Current (of the motor).
- V: Indicates that the LED is displaying the Voltage (Shows Voltages twice, one for the DC Bus Voltage of the drive and one for the Output Voltage of the drive).
- STOP/RUN: A OFF light indicates that the drive is in the Stop state and a ON light indicates that the drive is in the Run state.
- FWD/REV: Forward/Reverse Indicator (a ON light indicates Reverse rotation).
- LOCAL/REMOTE: Indicates whether the drive is operated by Keypad, Control Board Terminals (typically the digital inputs) or Remotely (RS485/ModBus RTU Communication). OFF indicates Keypad Operation; ON indicates Terminal Control; BLINKING indicates Remote Control.
- TRIP/ALARM: Tuning/Torque Control/Fault Indicator (ON indicates Torque Control Mode; BLINKING Slowly indicates Auto-tuning State; BLINKING Quickly indicates a Fault State / Drive Error).
- Encoder/Potentiometer Knob: Used to increase or decrease the frequency, data or a function code and when pressed can be used as Confirmation Key (Enter).
- Operational Function Buttons (Please see Function Key Codes A~H in previous image):
A) Programming/Escape Key: Enter the Parameter settings Menu or Exit a Menu Level (when setting/viewing Parameter Values). When pressing this for the first time the bottom LED Display will show parameter “b0” for VSDs (or Solar Drives with Double LED Display Lines) and for Solar Drives the LED Display (only has one) will show parameter “F0”.
B) Confirmation/Enter Key: Used to enter the Menu interfaces level by level and confirm the parameter setting.
C) Multi-Function Key: Used to perform a function switchover according to the function options as set using parameter b9-01 for VSDs (or Solar Drives with Double LED Display Lines) and parameter F7-01 for Solar Drives (with one LED Display Line). By default this is set as a shortcut to Forward JOG the motor.
D) Shift Key: Used to scroll through the various displayed parameters (list of parameters varies depending on whether it is in the stop or running state) and is also used to select the specific digit to be modified when modifying parameters with many digits.
E) Increment Key: Used to increase data or a function code value when modifying parameters.
F) Decrement Key: Used to decrease data or function code value when modifying parameters.
G) Running Key: Used to Start the drive output (run a motor) when using keypad control mode.
H) Stop/Reset Key: Used to Stop the drive output (stop a motor) when it is in the running state and is also used to perform a Reset operation when the drive is in a fault state (error). The functions of this key are restricted by b9-00 for VSDs (or Solar Drives with Double LED Display Lines) and parameter F7-02 for Solar Drives (with one LED Display Line).
